Sunisha Neupane
Anthropologist
Sunisha Neupane is a PhD candidate in Medical Anthropology at the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex. She is an ethnographer studying the intersection of social structures, health systems and policies. Her research aims to understand the social realities of women living in remote areas and how they navigate maternity care. Sunisha uses participatory research methods to contribute towards building a more equitable and just system of knowledge. She believes social transformation begins with deep listening. Sunisha welcomes students and researchers who are interested in mentorship or collaboration.

Writer
I am a writer based in Los Angeles, USA. I work and engage in written media and explore how media can play innovative roles for positive social transformation. I am interested in writing science fiction that evokes the normative dimension of a reader’s thoughts. At Coherent, I am exploring new ways to assist science trainees in developing the capacity to articulate their thoughts in writing.
Sujaya Neupane
Neuroscientist
I am a neuroscientist at York University, Canada. I study how the brain enables our perceptual and mnemonic functions. I also have a deep interest in research pedagogy. With students in Nepal, I am exploring a new research mentorship model that aims to foster twofold empowerment integratively - i.e. nurture the inherent potentialities for inquiry and develop the capacity for contributing to social transformation..
Ashim Pandey
PhD student in neuroscience
I am a PhD student in neuroscience at McGill University, Canada. I study the role of heuristics in decision-making and use primates as an animal model to investigate the neurobiology of heuristic decision-making. At Coherent, I am exploring ways to accompany incoming bridge program students as they navigate their path into science research.

I am an independent researcher from Kathmandu, Nepal and a research technician at the University of Trento, Italy. I study time perception and memory and I am interested in studying the brain.
